SAVE THE SACRIFICE

Singhal. P (2018) Transforming Together: Movement Beyond Boundaries: Translated by Scanlon. D.  The Foolish Poet Press, Wilmslow, England. SAVE THE SACRIFICE. Page Number 7.

The moonlight flowers perfumed with our love,
Have drifted into dust in this mournful morning.
You used to return with pride to triumphant blasts
Baring gifts from afar – now desperation is your gift:
I accepted distance now my hope is resurrection.

The brightness of my eyes were shaped in you
The dreams of vermilion dress departed in your flame:
Even the celebration patterns of Henna bleed,
Combined with tears something more of us fades:
The tingling of our dancing bangles silenced.

Motherland, my future is destroyed by your needs,
Protection against the differences our borders make:
In your name you take my love and his future seeds.
Please remove these walls of hatred: no more lost blood.
Each is your son, they are brothers: lost love in war.
