SEEING EYES AT PLAY

I heard a sadness in your voice:
Beyond the living words spoken,
Within a tone without rejoice
A needing friend almost broken.

Within the words was clear desire,
Beyond the joys within this play,
Speaking work performed for hire
Of a future wanted now, this day.

To live in this, our present place,
Requires that we give up our race
And find that inner peace today
Through our seeing eyes at play.

एक उदासी थी उसकी आवाज में
कुछ बोलती लब्जों से परे
एक बेबसी थी उसके अंदाज में
जैसे कोई टूट के बिखरे

गुमसुम सी थी उम्मीद दबी
कुछ गैर जरूरी बातों में
खेलें तारो संग लुकाछिपी
जैसे बिजली बरसातो में

भीड़ का हिस्सा कहला के
दौड़ में रुक जाना भी भला है
कल की फिक्र भुला के
आज में जीना भी एक कला है
